Romney plans Carbon County visits during his senate campaign

Mitt Romney has announced his intention to run for the U.S. Senate in Utah.
Romney made the announcement last week and also declared his residence to be in Holladay, Utah. He has owned that house for some time.
Carbon County Republican Chairperson Kendra Seeley said she, personally, is excited about the Romney announcement.
Seeley said Romney has agreed to make at least two visits to Carbon County. She anticipates he will come to Carbon County during the Republican County Convention on April 12 and will also make a public appearance at some later date.
Romney was the Republican candidate for President in 2012, losing to Barack Obama.
2002 Olympics
Romney has had Utah connections for a long time. Some people may remember Romney from his involvement with the 2002 Olympics that were held in Utah. Romney came to Utah to be President and Chief Executive Officer for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee.
In 1998 several International Olympic Committee members were forced to resign after it was uncovered that they had accepted bribes from the Salt Lake Bid Committee in return for voting for Salt Lake City.        Despite the controversy, the Games were eventually seen to be one of the most successful in history. Much of the praise for the results went to Romney.
After losing the 2012 Presidential election little was heard from Romney until the 2016 presidential race, where he adamantly opposed Donald Trump.
This is part of the transcript of a speech Romney gave in 2016:
“Dishonesty is Trump’s hallmark: He claimed that he had spoken clearly and boldly against going into Iraq. Wrong, he spoke in favor of invading Iraq. He said he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating 9/11. Wrong, he saw no such thing. He imagined it. His is not the temperament of a stable, thoughtful leader. His imagination must not be married to real power.”
