Pat attended the Rains School until the 4th grade, the Harding School in Price for 5th and 6th grades, Price Jr High, and Carbon High School where she graduated in 1951.  Pat graduated with an Associates and Nursing Degree in 1954 from the Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing and passed her RN Boards later that year. Pat married her grade school sweetheart, Raymond P. Richens, on December 17, 1954 in Price, Utah. Pat worked at Holy Cross Hospital, Carbon Hospital, and Castleview Hospital in Surgery, OB, Med-surge, Nursery, ER, and ICU until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the Nurses Association and served as President of the Nurses Association of Carbon County.
In 1981, while serving as the ICU Supervisor, Pat was the recipient of the Dr. Thomas F. First Humanitarian Award, an award presented each year to the individual who has demonstrated significant concern for the welfare and happiness of Castleview patients and has performed extraordinary acts of kindness over and above job responsibilities.  One comment made on two of the ballots was that, “she has a heart as big as Castleview Hospital.”  Some other comments included, “She continues to get education on critical care for the patients, that Pat cares so much for,” “She has offered to personally help aides financially to go to LPN school,” “Pat always has a big smile and kind words for her patients,” and “She really cares about what takes place with patients and the hospital in general.”
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Leona Wycherley Lamph (Goosie) and Edward Arthur Lamph (Artie), sisters Barbara (Chuck) Cuburu, Wilma Jean (James) Simone, Jackie (Steve) Drossos, and Michelle Leigh Lamph.
