CMSA receives $78,326 from Dept. Health and Human Services
Carbon Medical Service Association, Inc. (CMSA) received a Health Center Quality Improvement Grant in the amount of $78,326 from the US Department of Health and Human Services. In Utah 13 Health Centers received $911,381. Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), health centers will use these funds to continue to improve quality, efficiency, and the effectiveness of healthcare delivery in the communities they serve.
Carbon Medical Service received $5,000 for Electronic Health Record Reporters, $9,326 for Clinical Quality Improvers, $10,000 for Enhancing Access to Care, $15,000 for Addressing Health Disparities, $4,000 for Advancing Health Information Technology and $35,000 for Achieving Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition.
HRSA’s Quality Improvement grant awards promote continued community health center improvements in the following categories: Expanding access to comprehensive care, improving care quality and outcomes, increasing comprehensive care delivery in a cost-effective way, addressing health disparities, advancing the use of health information technology, and delivering patient-centered care.
“Community health centers provide coordinated, comprehensive, and patient-centered care to millions of Americans,” said HHS Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan. “They have a track record of delivering quality care at significantly lower cost and are vital partners in our movement toward a health system that delivers quality, affordable, value-based health care for all Americans.”
Carbon Medical Service Association, Inc. has two clinics, one in East Carbon and the other in Helper. CMSA offers quality primary care with our six mid-level providers and integrated Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health by our licensed clinical social worker. There is a full-service pharmacy at both locations. At the East Carbon site, there is a full-time dental clinic. Expanded hours are offered at both clinics.
