Several PYSA soccer teams traveled to St. George for the President’s Day weekend Ice-Breaker Tournament.
The U16 boys team dominated their division with not only first place, but un-defeated.
Their first game was against Morgan United with a win of 2-1, second game against the Blue Knights from Draper with a win of 3-0.
They then faced Copper Mountain who was also un-defeated in the championship game which ended with a 0-0 score. Because championship games can’t end in a tie, our boys went head to head in a PK shoot-out with Copper Mountain. The first five players from each team take turns shooting PK’s, the team with the most goals at that point is the winner.
After five shots each, it was a tie at 4-4. We nearly went through the entire roster until the winning shot was made by Payton Black. This was a hard-earned and well-deserved win.
