Richard “Dick” Max Olsen

    Richard, age 82, passed away February 10, 2018. He was born March 26, 1935 in National, Utah, to Ernest and Arvilla Black Olsen. He grew up in Spring Glen, Utah. He married Colleen Marie Sneddon on June 25, 1955 in Helper, Utah. He worked for Utah Power and Light for 31 years, where he enjoyed his work and fellow coworkers. After retiring in 1990, he and Colleen spent winters in Yuma, Arizona, dancing, cooking, touring, golfing, and making friends.
    He enjoyed Lonesome Dove and John Wayne movies, country music, riding his bicycle, and cards and lunch with his weekly card group. He looked forward to sharing his homemade fudge with his family at Christmas. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and camping.
    He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Colleen; son Richard (Debbie) Olsen; 3 grandchildren Jennifer (Kenny) Black, Christine (Cassady) Christensen, and Brian Olsen; 4 great grandchildren Kaylynn, Cameron, Brayden, and Jackson; brother Jack (Leah) Olsen; sister Jolene (John) Healy; sister-in-law Gloria Cooley; and brother-in-law Robert (Kathie) Sneddon.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Kenna Rae and Darrell Gentry; brother-in-law and good friend Marvin Cooley; niece Carolyn Sue Gentry; and nephew Jeff Sneddon.
