Colleen Carlson Byrge

CARBONVILLE-Our sweet mother returned to our Heavenly Father on Thursday the 15th of February 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She fought a hard battle and was very tired.  Colleen’s greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great- grandchildren.
She was born May 15, 1935 in Rains, Utah to Oscar Francis and Luella Checketts Carlson.  Married her sweetheart, Chuck Byrge on November 14, 1952 in Price, Utah and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple in September of 1985.  She and dad worked at the Manti Temple for years.  Colleen lived a life of service, helping wherever she was needed.  She worked at Deseret Industries for over 20 years and retired at the age of 82.  She was active in the Chili Supper for the Electric Light Parade and in the Community Cares Christmas Dinner. She looked forward to her monthly lunch dates with her girlfriends from Emery County that she went to school with.
After 50 years of marriage she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Chuck; sons, Stewart and Rodney “Hot Rod”; her parents and many brothers and sisters.
Colleen leaves behind her children, Chuck Byrge, Jr. (Beverly), San Antonio, Texas, Linda Wilson (Willie), Brenda Deeter (George), Terry Byrge (Margie), all of Carbonville, Utah; 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Carlson (Janis); sisters, Joyce and Barbara; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
