Margaret Christensen

    PRICE-Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Margaret Patricia Ahearn Christensen, 85, went peacefully home on February 24, 2018.
    She was the youngest of two children born to Patrick Jeremiah and Elsie Ella Babble Ahearn on June 2, 1932 in Salt Lake City. Margaret had an older brother John of the Salt Lake area, but it is unknown if he is living or deceased.  She married Harold Perry Christensen of Sanpete County in 1951 at the age of 19.  Together they had twelve children.  In 1982, mom and dad divorced, although they remained together for the most part.  Mom was raised within the LDS Church.
    Margaret was an amazing cook and could make anything from scratch.  She made homemade bread often, and when she did, there were always neighborhood children over to get a piece.  Mom loved KFC’s fried chicken, so when family came around we’d always have chicken for her.  She was a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed being a mom, but because she had so many children, being called “mom” was non-stop.  She would often jokingly say, she was changing her name.  Margaret didn’t have any hobbies outside of her children, but she really loved music and was always humming and listening to the radio.
    Margaret never turned down anyone in need.  She would say you never know when you are entertaining angels. She never bought things for herself, not even shoes.  Mom was always just given everything she needed.  She never complained, and was so happy to give-no matter how little she had.  She loved everyone.  It was a common occurrence to have anyone and everyone over that liked to visit.  She always had a pot of coffee on, day or night.  People loved to talk to mom about anything.  She never judged anyone and told her children to not judge anyone until you walked a mile in their shoes.  Mom didn’t hold a grudge and she was very forgiving.  Mom truly loved everyone.  She was a firm believer in Christ and knew she would be with him soon.
    She is survived by her children, Elsie (Johnny), Mary Ellen, Perry (Chris), Genefer (Corey), all from Utah, William (Connie) and Herman of Arizona, Patty (Jim) of Pennsylvania, Claudette (Will) of California, Roslyn (Dean) of Nevada, Rose Marie (Cam) of Florida; and 25 plus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Mom was preceded in death by her parents; sons, John and Jeremiah; grandsons, Andy and Billy; and her husband, Harold Perry Christensen.
    The family is truly grateful for the care provided to mom over the years from Pinnacle Care Center in Price.  Thank you all for being her extended family.  Also a special thanks to Mary, the night nurse who was there the evening mom passed.  Mary I know you had a deep love for mom and I know she felt the same for you. Thank you so very much for the love, compassion and kindness towards her.  It doesn’t go unnoticed.
    Graveside service for Margaret will be Thursday, March 1, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday from 11:00 -12:30 prior to the graveside.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Margaret online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
