A new business in Carbonville, Bent Metal Off-Road, is outfitting side-by-sides for local and internet customers nationally. In addition, they offer full service maintenance on side-by-sides and ATVs.
This innovative business, designs and fabricates windshields, low-profile roofs with adjustable vents, spare tire carriers, cages, exhausts, light bars and about anything a customer wants. They offer a range of products from street-legal kits to all of the necessities to prepare a side-by-side for racing. For those who hate a dirty windshield, they produce windshield-roof combos that include a wiper blade.
Bent Metal Off-Roads was born out of necessity. With the decline of the mining industry, Brendan and Carter Simkins felt inspired to use their fabrication skills to diversify their family business Western Mine Tool. About a year ago, after thinking about their passion for off-roading they began fabricating parts that they wished their side-by-sides had.
“We are excited about the business. Things are starting to take off. We make really good products and take pride in our work,” said Brendan Simkins. The business currently employs three workers, and the owners hope to expand as both local interest and internet sales increase. Find the company at bentmetaloffroad.com.
