It’s now been three weeks since my return to the Sun Advocate and Emery County Progress and plans for continued growth, success and acceptance in our communities are being better defined with each passing day.
I realize that changing the publisher at a newspaper is a major change, but it gives us the opportunity to re-set goals and direction. It gives us a spring board to look at other needed changes as we position ourselves as important news providers in the area. Specifically with a new editor and new advertising manager.
Our current Sun Advocate editor, John Serfustini actually retired for the second time last summer, but stayed on to make sure the transition to a new editor goes smoothly and we have greatly appreciated his work and direction for the many years of service he has provided to the readers of the Sun Advocate. And his continued support of the newspaper these past few months has been extremely valuable to us.
No matter how you define newspapers, in the end we provide a valuable local news service that is mixed with business marketing messages and relay this information to an active and engaged audience wanting to be better informed.
Our readers and subscribers engage our news from not only our printed pages, but from our digital news services as well. And the people we hire will be qualified in delivering this information in the new as well as the old formats.
Business marketing is all about captivating the right audience on an emotional level. When a potential customer is emotionally engaged with your message, the decision to buy comes easier and more natural.
The Sun Advocate and Emery County Progress deliver nearly 60,000 newspapers to homes in Carbon and Emery counties every month.
Furthermore, due to our increasing web site traffic and social media engagement, we have more people reading our products today than ever before in the history of the these two newspapers.
Because the community connects with the content we produce, this primes the reader as well as consumers to connect to a marketing message on an emotional level. Thus, a better return on a business’s marketing investment as this investment is surrounded by well written and planned out news content.
A lot of weekly planning and discussion goes into our story budget each week as we review not only what happened already but we look forward to see what is going to happen. This process will only improve in the coming months.
Understanding the marketing needs and goals of each business is the top priority of the Sun Advocate and Emery County Progress. After we learn what each business would like to accomplish through marketing, only then, can we match a custom marketing solution to each of these identified goals and business growth expectations.
As we partner with businesses to create marketing campaigns that connect with our captivated audience on an emotional level, together, we will strengthen the business communities of Carbon and Emery counties. After all, when local businesses are successful and grow, our local business is successful and grows as well.
Thank you for your patience as we make some strategic changes here at the Sun Advocate and Emery County Progress. We are investing not only in our future, but in your future as well.
A future that keeps everyone better informed in the quickest and most accurate way possible.
