Richard Reid Hansen passed away at his home on Oct. 12, 2017. Richard lived most of his life in the Salt Lake City area but his heart was always in the mountains of Sanpete and Carbon counties. He loved hunting and fishing, but those things were simply an excuse to spend time with his family, friends, and loved ones.
Richard grew up in Price and even as a boy couldn’t sit still. He was constantly busy, and that attitude persisted through his whole life. He was a hard worker and was always looking forward to his next big adventure. He loved taking his children, Laura and Bryan and their families with him wherever he went. Nothing brought him more happiness than seeing his grandkids catch a fish or get their first deer or elk.
Richard bought Valley Office Supply as a young man and successfully ran that business for 40 years. He loved going in to the office and appreciated the many friends and associates that worked for him and with him for the years.
Richard survived by his Mother Norma Petrie, his children, Laura (Steve) Morrison and Bryan (Sara) Hansen, six grandchildren, Findlay Morrison, Porter Morrison, Isaac Morrison, Jack Hansen, Samantha Hansen, and Jessica Hansen, as well as many other extended family members. He was proceeded in death by his ex-wife Bonnie Benson Hansen. A funeral was held Wednesday Oct. 18. Richard will be interred at the Spring City Cemetery.
