A “Meet the Candidates” night for candidates running for mayor and city council in Helper will be held on Monday, October 23 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Rio Theater.
Incumbent Mayor Ed Chavez is running for reelection and is being challenged by Lenise Peterman.
Four candidates are in the race for two city council positions. They are incumbent Gary Harwood, Donna Archuleta, Malarie Matsuda and Tim Riley.
The candidates will be introduced by Michelle Goldsmith. The moderator will be Michelle Fidel, with Mike O’shea as timer.
Early voting begins on Tuesday, October 24.
