Fred E. Smith passed away October 2, 2017 in South Ogden. He was 77 years old.
Fred was born to Edward Charles Smith and Helen Mae Stevenson Smith in Price.
He was married to his sweetheart, Sharon Hogue on July 8, 1984 in Anchorage, Alaska. They were married for 27 years.
Fred was an Army veteran, having served from 1963 to 1965 as a heavy vehicle driver. During his enlistment he deployed for one year to South Korea. He very much enjoyed hunting and fishing with his uncle, Jakie G. Farlaino. During his youth he enjoyed boxing and later, like his father, had a passion for trains and rose to the position of Locomotive Conductor with the Alaska Railroad.
He will be sorely missed by the Smith, Wilson, Stevenson, and Farlaino families and forever remembered by his numerous friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Humane Society, St. Jude, VFW, or a charity of your choosing.
Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday October 14, 2017 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Interment at the Price City Cemetery with a small graveside service at 3 p.m.
