The new Gagon Family Medical Center is officially open in Huntington. The business began seeing patients a week ago and served 156 patients in the first week.
The Emery County Business Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting at the new medical center. Dr. Gagon’s employees and members of the chamber were on hand as the ribbon was cut.
Dr. Gagon said with all the new regulations and insurance problems with the health care industry, it was predicted that small family practices would have a harder time staying viable and would struggle.
With this information Dr. Gagon decided it was time to expand his practice. He has a family medical practice in Price with extended hours for urgent care.
He opened the new facility on Main Street in Huntington. “Thirty percent of our patients come from Emery County. People are really excited to have this new facility here. We look forward to taking care of the whole spectrum of health care from birth to end of life. We can take care of everything including hospital care. I will be your attending physician in the hospital. It’s proven that people do better when they have a primary care physician.
“I have 30 employees and four main providers for our facility. I am the family practice doctor and we have Jeanne Hunt who is our physicians assistant; two excellent nurse practitioners, Donna Mathis and Tiffany Noyes. My wife Gina Gagon is active in the business.”
“When a patient calls into the office they can choose who they would like to see if they are available. I will supervise everyone to make sure they receive the best care possible. We offer obstetrics care and delivery. After the baby is born we have pediatric care and general medicine as well as geriatric care for those in later life. It really is from the cradle onward. You should have a primary care physician who can manage your health care for years to come.
“Our office is wheelchair accessible and we welcome patients of all abilities.
We have worked hard to provide quality medical care at low cost. We recently received an award for doing just that. Our facility was the only one south of Provo that was recognized. We really give quality care and our staff works hard to assure we provide quality care. We plan to extend this quality care from our Price facility to our new center here in Huntington.
“Our OB care is excellent. We have 2,500 deliveries to date. I really take care for our OB patients.
“I give them my cell phone number and they can call me anytime.
Our Huntington office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will have two providers here at all times. The providers will rotate with our Price office. There’s a possibility of later hours at the Huntington facility if there is a need later on.
“If you need care after hours, our Price facility is open until 8 p.m. each day and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.”
“We are also going to be looking for another provider in the next year or two,” said Dr. Gagon.
Dr. Gagon was raised in Orangeville and he will continue to be a community partner. He has a lot of friends in the community. He used local contractors to do the work on the building. For each school physical he performs he donates $25 to that school. He is very involved in athletics and all aspects of community life.
In addition to the new building which has been stuccoed and a new parking lot, there will be landscaping completed in the front of the building to add to the beautification of the Huntington Main Street.
You can call 435-613-2200 and this will connect you with the Price office as well as the Huntington office.
The SmartHealth pharmacy will open in November. This pharmacy is located in the rear of the new medical center.
“The pharmacy has a separate entrance as well as a drive-up window to pick up medication that has been called in or submitted electronically from the doctor’s office.
“This new pharmacy will help enhance the new medical services available in Huntington.
“Kendall O’Neil is the pharmacist starting the pharmacy in Huntington. A ribbon cutting will be held there by the business chamber when the new facility is completed.
