ORANGEVILLE- Loye Justesen Thompson, a loving devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister and aunt, at age 94, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on April 23, 2017 in Price, Utah.
Loye was born in her family home in Orangeville, Utah on March 29, 1923 to Rasmus Orlando Justesen and Alice V. Snow. Loye was the youngest of nine children.
She graduated from Central High School and Ex-Cel-Sis Beauty College.
Loye’s life was blessed when she married Preston Thompson on October 29, 1942, and the next 55 years were filled with love of their children, grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Loye was a beautiful, elect woman with grace and elegance, a woman of great faith, tenderness and instinctive wisdom. She was a peacemaker who cherished and nurtured the family unit as one of heavens greatest gifts.
Loye was a lady of many talents, and she shared with everyone. She owned and operated her Beauty Salon for 38 years. She received awards for Humanitarian efforts during World War II. She faithfully served in numerous Ward and Stake church callings and she was a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
Loye had many interests including sewing, singing, gardening and floral arranging, painting and being and animal lover (especially to her cats).
Thank you Mom for your examples of Christ like service, honesty and hard work, for serving those around you unceasingly and your unconditional love.
Loye is survived by three children, Justine (Lynn) Goodfellow, Meredith (Stan) Hess, and Les (Nadine) Thompson, 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Earl Preston Thompson; parents; three sisters; five brothers and one great grandchild.
Funeral service Thursday, April 27, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Orangeville First LDS Ward, 45 West 100 South, Orangeville, Utah, where family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment Ferron Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Loye at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
