The Carbon High School girls’ basketball team rebounded quickly from a loss to Richfield High School last Tuesday to defeat Juab High School 48-29 on Thursday.
The Dinos fell to Richfield 61-44 on the road last week, falling behind from the start of the game. The Dinos went into halftime trailing 29-18, and could not pick up the pace in the second half and were dealt the loss.
However, the Dinos scored a commanding win over Juab on Thursday, a game which began with the Dinos holding the Wasps to just two mere points in the first quarter. Despite the Wasps adding 10 points in the second quarter, the Dinos continued to control the game and went into halftime leading 31-12. Despite letting up on the offensive side a bit in the second half, scoring seven points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth, the Dinos cruised to the victory.
Senior Lindsey Blanc led the Dinos offensively with 11 points. Senior Cyene Bigelow and junior Kelsey Sorenson each scored eight points of their own. Bigelow also tallied eight rebounds on the night, seven defensive, while senior Taylor Passarella tallied five rebounds, two defensive.
The Dinos, now 13-3 overall and 3-1 in Region 12 play, travel to North Sanpete High School on Thursday for their next match-up.
