The USU Eastern women’s volleyball team won its match against Colorado Northwestern College on Tuesday three matches to one.
The Golden Eagles suffered their only loss in the first set, losing only 25-23.
“I messed up the rotation, so I’ll take the blame for the chaos,” said head coach Brittney Lee.
USUE quickly got into a rhythm after the loss and won the next three sets 25-23, 25-21 and 25-12, respectively.
“We were hitting our zones really well,” said Lee. “[We] need to learn to close the game instead of dragging it out.”
For the Golden Eagles, Lee was proud of Allison Kittell’s performance throughout the match. She had eight kills, six blocks and two assists. Other standouts were Kayle Newman with 24 kills and two aces, Paige Eyring with 15 kills and 19 digs and Mckenzie Burrows with three aces, 45 assists and 11 digs.
USUE, now 11-9 overall and 2-1 in conference, will go on a long road trip starting with an away match against North Idaho College. The Golden Eagles will not play at home again until Oct. 24 when they will rematch North Idaho College at 1 p.m.
