BENCHES POND: (August 01) Lt. J. Shirley reported that fishing was good during the weekend of July 25-27. The catch consisted almost entirely of 10-inch rainbow trout. Worms and PowerBait are recommended.

BOULGER RESERVOIR: (July 22) Early morning anglers report good fishing with worms and PowerBait. The last stocking occurred just before the July 4 holiday with 500 ten-inch rainbow trout.

CARBON COUNTY COMMUNITY FISHING POND: (August 01) Carbon County fairgrounds personnel have been pouring concrete for the restroom and fish-cleaning station. The pond was closed to fishing from July 30 to Aug. 1 to allow the cement time to cure.

CLEVELAND RESERVOIR: (July 25) On July 19, Tom Ogden fly-fished from a tube. In 6.5 hours, he caught 20 rainbow trout. Six ranged from 14-16 inches. The rest averaged 10 inches. Tom used fast-sinking line and patterns in sizes 4-8 that included a beadhead soft-hackle fly, hot-head copper tan, and beadhead crystal bugger. Last week, boaters experienced better success than bank anglers, although the catch rate was slow for everyone. On June 30, the reservoir was stocked with 2,500 10-inch rainbow trout.

ELECTRIC LAKE: (July 25) On July 21, Conservation Officer JD Abbott reported fair fishing from shore with dead minnows. On July 19, Dave Cunningham and two other anglers fished four hours from a boat. Dave reported poor success while trolling and fair success while still fishing and using PowerBait with glitter. The group caught a total of five trout and had four other hits. The cutthroats measured 14-16 inches.

GIGLIOTTI POND: (July 25) The pond was restocked on July 15 with 750 10-inch rainbow trout. Anglers report good fishing. Worms and PowerBait (rainbow and chartreuse with glitter) have been effective.

HUNTINGTON NORTH RESERVOIR: (July 25) On July 18, Dan Keller reported good fishing for wipers using Rapala Glass Shad Raps. Dan trolled along the buoy line at about 1.5 mph. Trout anglers have reported slow fishing from boats and the shore.

JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (August 01) On July 27, Kathy Jo Martinez reported slow fishing from a boat. Stephine Martinez, who also trolled the reservoir, didn’t get many bites. Conservation Officer James Thomas added his opinion, saying that fishing was very slow for shoreline anglers. It appeared to be a bit better for boaters.

LA SAL MOUNTAINS: (July 25) The following report was provided by Conservation Officer T.J. Robertson:
Hidden Lake-On July 15, the lake was stocked with 800 nine-inch rainbow trout. Fishing has ranged from fair to good and is best in the morning and evening hours. A variety of baits have been effective, including PowerBait in green, orange or rainbow. Nightcrawlers and salmon eggs have been making a comeback. Jakes and Kastmasters are also working well. s.
Kens Lake-Fishing success ranges from slow to fair but is better in the early morning or late evening hours. Trout have been taking a wide variety of baits. Bass anglers have been using small jigs near the inlet. Watermelon and chartreuse have been the most popular colors. Small double-tailed jigs have been effective for sunfish. Boaters are having more success than shoreline anglers.
Oowah Reservoir-On July 15, the pond was stocked with 900 nine-inch rainbow trout. Fishing has been good. Take along a variety of small spinners as well as traditional baits.

LOWER GREEN RIVER: (July 22) Walt Maldonado reports good fishing for catfish using shrimp, chicken livers or nightcrawlers. The water level is low, leaving a lot of exposed bank for easy fishing access. Mornings and evenings are the best times to fish. Walt specifically recommended fishing near the pump house near town.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (August 01) On July 27, Kathy Jo trolled from a boat with a Pistol Pete fly and did fairly well for cutthroats ranging from 10-15 inches. Her partner, Justin, trolled with a worm and had similar success. They fished around the island as well as along the west side in deeper water. Chubs were prolific, but were fewer in deep water. After checking anglers during the weekend of July 25-27, Lt. J. Shirley described fishing as fair to good for shoreline anglers. They were catching a lot of Utah chubs along with cutthroat and rainbow trout. Nightcrawlers and PowerBait were the most popular baits. Jakes lures in both gold and silver were also effective. Please pay attention to the slot limit. Anglers are required to return all cutthroat and tiger trout to the water when they measure between 15 and 22 inches. Aside from the slot, there is a reduced limit for both species above 22 inches and below 15 inches. An angler is allowed to harvest only two cutthroat or tiger trout smaller than 15 inches and only one longer than 22 inches. A combined total of four trout may be taken. There is no slot limit on rainbow trout. The tributaries are now open to fishing.

SOUP BOWL: (July 25) On July 16, the pond was stocked with 175 10-inch rainbow trout.

WILLOW LAKE: (August 01) Brandon Behling fished on July 27 and caught nine 10- to 13-inch rainbow trout in 1.5 hours. He fished on the south side in the pines and used a Thomas Buoyant spoon in red/gold. A partner used a silver lil’ Jakes lure and had similar success. Other members of the fishing party, who used bait, averaged two fish an hour. The best PowerBait colors were red/white/blue, chartreuse and pink. The spillway was the best spot for shoreline fishing. Conservation Officer James Thomas described fishing as fair during the past week.

WRIGLEY SPRINGS RESERVOIR: (July 22) The pond was stocked this week. Last weekend, Brandon Behling and his wife fished with spoons. One was red/gold. The other imitated a rainbow trout. They caught one 14-inch and one16-inch rainbow trout.
