Felicia Olmos dribbles down the line. She scoed two in the loss to North Sanpete.

After facing two really tough opponents to begin region play, Carbon was hoping for a victory over North Sanpete on Wednesday night. The two teams were pretty evenly matched on paper, but it is not paper that counts.
Even though the Dinos scored first, it was the Hawks that took the 4-2 win on the field. Felicia Olmos scored both the goals for Carbon in the losing effort.
“This was a heart breaking loss, because we could have beaten them,” Coach Henrie commented. “They had too much of a break after the Grantsville win, lost the momentum and then took two big losses. It left the team too tense and tentative in their play.”
Without much time to regroup, the team had to face the visiting Delta Rabbits on Friday. Delta had beat Carbon earlier in the season 10-0 so the Dinos knew this would be a tough match. The Rabbits wasted no time in establishing they came to play and by the end of the first half were up 3-0.

Felicia Olmos scores one of her two goals in the Wednesday loss to North Sanpete. The Dinos were held scoreless in their Friday loss.

This time around, the Carbon defense didn’t roll over and despite the 5-0 loss, they walked away knowing they had held Delta to half of what it had done earlier in the season. This was their final home game of the season.
The Dinos are in the position now that if they even expect to go to the play-offs this season they will have to take one from North Sanpete on their field. Stealing a victory from Juan Diego would be icing on the cake. Carbon wraps up regular season play next week with road games at Juan Diego on the third and North Sanpete on the fifth. The outcome of those games may determine whether or not the Dinos go to the next level or not.
