Patricia Smith crosses the finish line first for the Carbon girls at their invitational tournament last Wednesday.

On Sept. 26 Carbon conducted its annual three mile cross county invitational run.
The boys started with 100 competitors from nine schools. All coaches reported that their runner held up good times on the grueling course, according to Carbon Coach Stew Foster. The first Carbon boy to finish the race was Andrew Bates in 15th place overall. He was followed by Robert Lowe, Beu Morley and Kaleb Kulow.
In the girls three mile run Patricia Smith stayed up with the leaders for the first two and a quarter miles and then slid back to fourth. There were 53 girls racing total. Katie Palmer and Kenzie Mantz also raced for the Dinos.
The Dinos raced again Oct. 3.
