The Carbon County Commission recently approved the issuance of taxable lease revenue bonds for the amount of $3 million for improvements to the Consumer Wash Road that leads to the Horizon Mine in the southwestern part of the county.
The road has, for the most part been gravel and dirt since it was built early last century when towns like National and Coal City existed in the area.
The commission also approved another $600,000 in taxable lease revenue bonds to build a salt/road shed complex at the new maintenance complex on Airport Road.
The Carbon County Commission meets in an open public forum at the county courthouse on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
