Douglas Dee Fausett
PRICE – Douglas Dee Fausett, age 60, returned to his Heavenly Father July 30, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer associated with exposure to Agent Orange.
He was born June 26, 1947 in Price, the first-born son of Ervin Dee and Carol Powell Fausett. Doug married Robynn Adele Peterson on his 23rd birthday, June 26, 1970.
Doug was a grateful man who freely expressed his appreciation for all that he had and all that was done for him. He considered his greatest blessing to be his family and was especially proud of his children. His most joyous times were spent with his extended family at their mountain retreat on Beaver Ridge and spoiling his grandchildren.
Doug was a fan of “Deep Thoughts” by Jack Handey, good food and many outdoor activities: shooting, hunting, and fishing.
A charismatic and endearing man, many called him friend.
He served during the Vietnam Conflict as a Marine.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Doug was retired from U.S. Fuel after 22 years of employment and was a proud member of UMWA Local 6363.
Doug is survived by his sweetheart of 37 years; and children, Hector (Melanie) Fausett; Brock (Jessica) Fausett; Paige (Jared) Haddock; grandchildren, Peyton, Aubrey and Lindsie Fausett; Conner, Colin and Gavin Fausett; Emma and Eliza Haddock, Price. He is also survived by his parents, Dee and Carol Fausett, Price; brothers, Lyle, Salt Lake City; Don (Kathy), Helper; Blake, Helper; sister, Dixie (John) Gomez, Price; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He also has two amazing friends and a brother-in-law who are more like brothers, Bruce Sherman, Ron Fossat and John Gomez. Preceded in death by grandparents, Grant and Ruby Powell; Ervin and Clara Fausett; uncle, Don Fausett; father-in-law, Ted Peterson; and grandson, Brecken Haddock.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS Stake Center, 150 South 500 E.ast. Viewing Thursday, Aug. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuar, 680 E. 100 South, Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Grames-Powell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Relay for Life, Castleview Hospital, 300 N. Hospital Drive, Price, in Doug’s name.
Jamey’Elly Mae’ Peacock
LAWRENCE – Jamey “Elly Mae” Peacock, 44, of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2007, of cancer.
Elly Mae was born on Feb. 5, 1963 in Price, one of seven children born to Boyd and Diane Potter. She married Kevin Peacock on July 17, 1981.
Elly Mae is survived by her husband, Kevin Peacock, Lawrence; mother, Diane Potter, Huntington; grandmother, Margie Ward, Huntington; her loving children, Eshia Peacock, Castle Dale, and Keyanna Peacock, Orangeville; three grandchildren; Mikah, Chel and Alex; sisters and brothers, Stacy (Mike) Christman, Orangeville; DeVon Potter, Delta, Colo.; Brett Potter, Huntington; Wayne (Lisa) Potter, Tucson Ariz.; Cody (Barbie) Potter, Huntington; Marty (Mandi) Potter, Eckert, Colo.; in-laws, Robert (LaRee) Peacock, Price; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Heber Ward; father, Boyd Potter; and brother, Chel Potter.
Memorial services will be Friday, Aug. 3, 11 a.m. at the Desert Edge Christian Chapel, 500 S. Main, Huntington. Interment will follow at the Huntington City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Rita Kinder Clavel
HIAWATHA/RENO, Nev. – Rita Clavel Kinder, 72, passed away July 12, 2007 at Renown (Washoe) Medical Center. She was surrounded by her husband and children.
Rita was born in Hiawatha July 15, 1934, the daughter of Alfred and Ellia Clavel.
She moved to Reno, Nev., with her family in 1966, where she resided for the past 41 years.
She earned her associates degree in nursing in 1978 at Truckee Meadows Community College. She went to work as a registered nurse for Washoe Medical Center in the cardiac intensive care unit, for the next 20 years.
She had lifelong hobbies of sewing and needlework.
Rita enjoyed camping, fishing and motor home travel with the Good Sams Group and, of course, her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Reno 2nd LDS Ward. Her marriage to Fred was solemnized in the Reno LDS Temple in 2006.
Surviving and greatly missed by her husband, Fred Kinder; daughters, Tova (Barry) Roseman, Tracy (Jim) Murphy; sons, Marc and Lynn Kinder; grandchildren, Salvatore, Joseph, Dominic, Annalucia, Jett, Hunter and Krystal.
Services are to be private with family under the direction of Northern Nevada Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.

Sadie Geraldine Brown Goff
PRICE/AMERICAN FORK – Sadie Geraldine Brown Goff, 85, passed away July 26, 2007 in Price.
Born Aug. 5, 1921 to William Alonzo and Agatha Viola Flathers Brown. Geri married Warren Groves Goff on Jan. 24, 1941 in Woods Cross. During WWII, she worked at the Ogden Arsenal. She retired from Bayly’s Manufacturing.
She was an active member of FOE 3372 and VFW women’s auxiliary 4918.
She loved to crochet and quilt. She loved to worry about her family, especially her grandkids playing in the streets.
She made her home in American Fork for 45 years.
Survived by her two daughters, Betty (Ken) Okerlund, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada; Dorothy (Ron Prettyman) Diamond, Superior, Wyo.; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Monday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. at the American Fork Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Pete Liapis
PRICE/BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Peter Paul Liapis, age 83, passed away peacefully July 29, 2007 at his home in Bullhead City, Ariz.
He was born Oct. 31, 1923 in Mohrland to Paul and Foto Lambrinos Liapis. Married Alberta Leo in the Greek Orthodox Church in Price prior to moving to California.
Pete enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp at the beginning of WWII, spending three years of combat in the Pacific. He was wounded at Guam and the Marianas Islands and received the Purple Heart while serving with the Carleson Raider Battalion.
Pete returned to Carbon County, where he was a member of the Carbon College championship football team. He was honored as a member of the all-conference football team in 1947 when they won the championship.
Pete won many boxing titles, including the international heavy weight title of AAU. His success in amateur boxing led him to move to Fullerton, Calif., where he was a counselor and coach for the Fullerton Boys Club for 23 years.
Pete was associated with many professional sports dignitaries who held him in the highest esteem. His association with Rick Miller, director of 11 Boys Clubs of Phoenix and founder of the Kids for Hope National Foundation was Pete’s life career.
After retirement from the Fullerton Boys Club, he was a successful businessman owning hotels in California and Arizona. But in his heart and mind, he was always the athletic director of the Fullerton Boys Club.
May his memory be eternal.
Survived by his loving wife, Alberta, Bullhead City, Ariz.; sons, Rock, Bullhead City, Ariz.; Peter Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter, Faye Schumacher, Redding, Calif.; sisters, Sylvia (John) Platis, Dorothy Kay, Helen Maxfield; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George and Harry Liapis.
