Whitney William and Ericka Potts tighten their defensive efforts to force a steal in Thursday’s game

The Lady Dinos enter the Christmas break racking up their fourth win in a row. They went up to Tremonton and took on Bear River in what they had expected to be a tough game. But season change and Bear River is a shadow of the team it was supposed to be and Carbon beat them 38-28.
With almost no crowd and their opponents playing with little intensity, the girls had a difficult time getting fired up.
“We played down to their level,” commented Carlson, “but I saw a lot of good things out on the floor as well. It still was a good game.”
It ended up a game where many of the bench players got in some court time in the fourth quarter.
The deadly three point shooting of Megan Garvin continued as she hit another four from beyond the arc. She led the team with 14 points on the night. Ericka Potts had nine points and hers all came from foul shots as she went 9-10 off the line. Potts also pulled in seven rebounds.
To reward the players’ hustle, the coaching staff names a garbage girl of the game. This night the honor went to Britni Greenwood who pulled in seven rebounds.
After the break, the team will take one more road trip to Morgan on Jan. 3 before beginning region play at home. Morgan is one of the highest ranked 3A teams in the state and will give Carbon’s girls a run for their money. Carlson is looking forward to the challenge this game will give her squad. They will have a week to recover before taking on Juan Diego at home on the Dec. 9.
