Letter to the Editor: Lighting problem

By Sun Advocate

Editor:
I was returning home Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. As I drove past the basketball court on Fourth North, adjacent to the tennis court, I had to stop to evaluate what I was observing. Several boys were playing basketball in the dark with the lights of a car being used to see (apparently they had located the car so the light wasn’t shining in their eyes). The lights at the court appeared to be on , however, didn’t provide enough light.
At the tennis courts all the lights were on and no one was playing tennis.
I’m sure the city knows about the lighting problem at this location, most everyone traveling this route probably does. What I’m not sure of is whey it is continually ignored. The players must not be a special interest group.
The community should be happy these youngsters energy is being directed at the basket and not at their homes.
