Cats relax at the Carbon County Animal Shelter during the heat of last summer.
A number of local residents have voiced concerns about the welfare of the animals due to a temporary change in administration at the shelter.
‘I have ordered the acting manager of the shelter to not change anything we have been doing up to now,’ said Carbon Commissioner Steve Burge in a telephone interview Wednesday. ‘Until we have things resolved over the issues involved, we will not make any kinds of changes other than to get some extra help to fill in while we solve the situation.”
Burge hopes the issues that initiated the temporary change will be resolved by next week.
