For Carbon County residents, 2003 was filled with excitement and disappointment.
Helper Junior High finished the football season undefeated, while Carbon High’s Lady Vikings volleyball nearly brought home a state championship title. A semi-pro football team was the newest addition to area athletics.
Some teams exceeded preseason expectations while others struggled just to find the courage to see the season through.

Carbon basketball players, wrestlers, divers and swimmers end the 2003 year midway through their season, giving area supporters the opportunity to participate in yet another year of triumph and defeat in 2004.
