Price city is close to completing the process of compiling survey data and developing a retail market analysis for the downtown area.
The downtown market analysis is an interpretation of retail sales patterns in Price, indicated city officials.
The market interpretation will include a summary and analysis of demographic changes in Carbon County as well as a report on the community’s perceptions of downtown.
According to Price city officials, the study is specifically designed to:
•Identify opportunities for business growth in downtown Price.
•Help create a stronger base for promotional activities.
•Clarify consumer attitudes and perceptions regarding the downtown area.
•Assist to focus downtown businesses and property owners on shared issues as well as agendas.
The cost of the study is provided by the city’s economic development agency and will be presented to the public in January.
The next steps will involve forming a committee of public and private business representative to help with interpretation and application of the analysis.
For additional information regarding the status of the project, local residents may contact Price community development director Nick Tatton at 636-3184.
