A Dino runner slides into first base against the Emery Spartans earlier this year. The Carbon ball club has claimed seven straight victories and are on their way to the state playoffs which will begin May 10.

With only one week remaining on the Carbon Dinos Region 8 season schedule, the team looks forward to kicking off post season action.
Currently, the Dinos stand at 7-0 on the season and 12-5 overall this year.
The seven game winning streak boosted the Dinos into the number one seed in Region 8 as the state playoffs near.
Last Friday afternoon, the Dinos traveled to Mount Pleasant to take on the North Sanpete Hawks. The match up ended with the Dinos on top, 7-5.
The Carbon team found themselves trailing the Hawks, 4-2 entering the fifth inning.
This is when the Dinos turned up their play and scored five runs in the inning. This opened the doors for the Dinos seventh straight region victory this year.
The Carbon team will host their final regular season game Tuesday at 3 p.m. as the Delta Rabbits come to town.
Following this match up, the Dinos will take to the road and finish out the season as they compete against Park City on Wednesday and Wasatch on Friday.
State playoff action will begin May 10 as the Dinos host the number four, Region 10 team. This will be a play-in game and will kick off the playoff season.
Dino coach Lane Herrick is confident in his team but is quick to admit that a trip to the state finals will not be easy.
In fact, Herrick feels that now is the time that his team needs to step up and focus on one game at a time in order to make it to the finals this year.
