Area golfers compete in annual Black Diamond tournament

Drive for show, putt for dough. Participants at the annual Black Diamond golf tournament battled for the top prize in each flight. The two-day tournament was held last weekend at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course and attracted hundreds of golfers.

For months, local golf enthusiasts have been talking about the annual Black Diamond Tournament. Clubs have been swinging in preperation for the annual tournament which draws competitiors from far and wide to participate.
The event which welcomes athletes with various skill levels was held during the July 4 weekend.
Despite the extremely hot conditions, the participants remained unwavered as they competed for the title of Black Diamond champion.
The tournament allows participants to compete against those who have similar golf skills as their own. The tournament is comprised of three flights of players. These flights are determined by each players handicap. By the end of the two-day tourney, a winner from each flight had prevailed and are listed below.
With plenty more months of warm weather ahead, the golf course is bound to be lined with golf enthusiasts who enjoy playing the sport, no matter what the level of skill and anticipation will reign until next years tourney.
