Each week during the basketball season the Sun Advocate highlights two players from the Carbon High girls and boys basketball teams.
Tyler Bean, sophomore guard for the Carbon Dinos, also plays football and baseball for Carbon.The versatile athlete plays both linebacker and quarterback on the football squad. He is a catcher and utility player on the baseball team. He enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities when he is not playing sports.
He plans on attending college after high school, but has not given much thought to the school he wants to attend. He enjoys biology.
Tyler is the second oldest out of four kids. He has one brother and two sisters.
Tamarisk Harwood is a sophomore guard on the Carbon Lady Dinos basketball squad.
She is also a softball player. On the softball squad she rotates between the outfield and third base.
She has one younger brother.
Tamarisk loves to play PDR when she is relaxing after practice and games. Her favorite class is biology.
She plans on attending Utah State University in a few years.
Carbon High Sophomore Mike Sacco specializes in basketball. He is a small forward on the squad.
The oldest in a family of three kids, he has a sister and a brother.
Biology is one of his favorite classes.
Mike snowboards in the winter and loves to fish when it’s warmer.
He plans on attending the University of Utah when he completes his high school education.
A sophomore this year, Erika Potts plays the post position for the Carbon squad. She is also on the volleyball squad. In the spring she moves to softball, playing third base and catcher. Erika also loves choir and enjoys singing.
She is thinking about the University of Utah as one of her choices for college, but hasn’t quite made up her mind.
When looking for role models, Erika seeks out her parents and grandparents for guidance.
