Carbon High rodeo club hosts annual spring event, Competing for the final buckle

This young calf roper prepares to hunt down the calf he drew out during the Carbon High spring rodeo last weekend. The two day event allowed athletes from across the state to compete for a chance to advance to the high school finals rodeo to take place later this year. The annual rodeo was a big success and the competition was intense.

High school rodeo athletes traveled to Price from across the state to compete in the annual Carbon High spring rodeo this past weekend.
The annual rodeo competition allowed athletes to compete in various events including roping, rough stock and timed events.
The athletes were also able to post their best times and scores which will help them in their journey to the state high school finals later this year.
At the state event, the best in Utah will compete for the prestigious championship buckle in each rodeo event.
Carbon County is a community known for its vast history in rodeo and the young local athletes in the sport were able to showcase their talents in front of an excited hometown crowd.
