Carbon’s sophomore pitcher steps up to cover home base as the catcher rushes for the loose ball against Emery several weeks ago. The Dinos varsity team has two games remaining in the season and stand at 0-6 for the year.

The Region 8 softball season has whizzed by and the Dinos are left with two games on their schedule and a 0-6 record.
During the preseason, the future looked bright for the Dinos as they claimed eight victories. As the season got underway however, the Dino team found themselves committing too many errors which eventually lead to many of the teams season losses.
Errors was the deciding factor in the last game the Dinos competed in.
Last Thursday, the Carbon team hosted North Sanpete. During this game, the Dinos committed eight errors in the sixth inning alone. These mistakes cost the team a Region 8 victory as they fell to the Hawks, 12-4.
Up to this point in the ball game, Carbon had held on to stay in the game and had a strong chance of capturing their first season win. That was until the error problem came about.
North Sanpete capitalized on Carbon’s mistakes and scored seven runs in the sixth. This would break the 4-4 tie which was posted on the scoreboard when the inning began.
The Dinos will conclude the Region 8 season this week as the team travels to Delta on Tuesday and on Wednesday, the team will return home to host Grand.
