Babe Ruth team to compete for state championship

The Carbon B all-star Babe Ruth team proudly display their hard earned trophies. The team is comprised of Adam Archer, Camron Burgess, Willy Hill, Luke Kiahtipes, Houston Lui, Preston Lodeserto, RoBee Muncy, Cory Patterson, Dustin Pollastro, Aaron Stefanoff, Brandon Wilson, and Jay Workman. The team is coached by Cory Burgess, Tod Wilson, Carl Pollastro. The team has had a successful tournament season and will compete in the state tournament on July 16.

The Carbon Babe Ruth 13 year old all-star team has had a successful tournament series thus far. Now that the team has advanced through the tourney brackets, it will now compete for the state championship on Tuesday.
The Babe Ruth team is comprised of players from the Tram Electric, Conveyor Services, and Helper Merchants teams. The team competed in a pool play tournament which was held in Castle Dale.
The Carbon B team won the first game in the tournament against Gunnison, 12-1 and lost their second game to Emery 7-6. This placed the Carbon B team in the second seed to go the Utah south tournament which was held in Richfield the week of July 8.
The team began the Richfield tourney against Panguitch. Carbon B defeated this team 32-2. The win gave the team a boost entering into the next round of the tournament where they competed against number one seeded Beaver.
Carbon won this game by the score of 8-2 which gave them a guarantee of a first or second seeding for the Utah south seed in the state championships.
The showdown for first place seeding in the state tourney came down to Carbon B and Emery. It was an exciting game which came down to the wire. After the smoke had cleared, Carbon came out on top, 13-12.
The first game of the state championships was held July 13 and pitted Carbon B against Brighton. Carbon walked away with a 13-3 victory in the fifth inning. The team will move on to play in the winners bracket at the state tourney at 8 p.m. July 16.
After hard work, great ball play and determination, the Carbon B team now faces the chance of a lifetime, to become Babe Ruth state champions.
