Alice Magann

    HELPER-Our loving mother, grandmother, and longtime friend, Alice Frances Tomsic Magann, passed away in her home on September 26, 2017, just days after her 93rd birthday.
    She was born September 20, 1924 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Frank M. and Julia Papez Tomsic.
    Alice graduated from high School in Walsenburg.  On October 12, 1946, she married Max A. Magann in Helper, Utah where Max worked for the Rio Grande Railroad, and Alice worked for J.C. Penney’s.  After 41 years of marriage, Max preceded her in death on October 24, 1987.  Alice was a longtime resident of Helper and an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  She will be sorely missed by her family and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
    She is survived by her two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Ron (Marilyn) Magann, Millcreek, UT, Judy (Dave) Tryon, Sandy, UT, Tracy (Jennis) Magann, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Mick, Ambra, Jessica, Alicia and Anna; seven loving great-grandchildren and a community of friends.
    Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Max A. Magann; son, Gary Magann; sisters, Julia Tomsic, Mili Husband and Virginia Tasker; and brothers, John, Eddie and Frank Tomsic.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to her close friends, Lorraine Babcock, Rosalee Fenn, Merlene Kirkwood, Sheila and Brent Myers, Mary Bonacci, and Shaylee Johnson who was always there for her.
    Funeral Mass, Saturday, September 30, 2017, 10:00 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Vigil service, Friday evening 6:00 p.m. at the church in Helper.  Family will receive friends at St. Anthony’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services.  Committal service will be in the Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helper.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Alice online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
