WELLINGTON- Jean R. Davis, age 90, passed away at home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2017.
Jean was born in Price, Utah on November 12, 1926 to Reed Richens and Lucille Mortensen Richens.
Jean was the oldest of three children.
She married the love of her life, Devon Davis, on August 12, 1950 in Nevada. They were married for 51 years and had five children. They made their home in Nine Mile, Utah. Then later moved to Wellington, where they raised their family. In 2007 after an illness she moved to Price to live with her daughter, Udella and Paul Howa.
Jean loved fishing, camping, and was an excellent seamstress. She really loved to crochet. She would spend the entire year getting ready for the Christmas bazaar to sell her crocheted items that the whole community loved. After her husband passed in 2001 she loved going to the Carbon County Senior Center and making new friends.
Survived by children, Devona Ross, Ernest (Kelley) Davis, Laura (Wayne) Fillmore, Barbara (Wes) Noyes, Udella (Paul) Howa; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
Preceded in death by her husband, Devon Davis; her parents, younger brother and sister, and grandson, Jeremy.
Jean’s family would love to thank her caregiver and friend, Judy Payton, as well as the girls from CNS Hospice, Willow Jones and Ashley Hoffman, for their love and kindness they have shown to Mom over the last months.
Graveside service Saturday, April 29, 2017, 2:00 p.m., Wellington City Cemetery, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Jean at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
