PRICE – Our beloved friend, Jamie “Rick” Sanchez, age 54, rode away into the sunset on June 27, on his Harley.
He was born January 14, 1961 in Price, Utah to Johnny P. and Ellen Weatherington Sanchez.
Married DeAnn Sanchez, divorced. Married Janet Priano, they later divorced.
Jamie was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a member of the VFW Miner’s Post # 2379. He was very patriotic and honorably served in the US Army. His greatest love was for his country, riding Harley’s and restoring his Corvette. Prior to his disability he worked as a boilermaker at the Power Plants in the area. Jamie shared a deep love for the outdoors and spent as much time as possible fishing, hunting and riding with the wind in his face with his buddies.
Survived by his loving family, Courtney Ann Sanchez, Troylyn Sisneros, Eddie Sanchez and Ron Sanchez; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Valerie Sanchez-Stella; and his brother, John Sanchez.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 2, 4:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Thursday one half prior to services. Burial will be at the family plot in Del Norte, Colorado.
