CHS gym gets a makeover

By Sun Advocate

The Carbon High School gymnasium is now showing off more school spirit complete with the colors blue, black and white on the stands on one half of the gym.
Judy Mainord, secondary cirrculum director with the Carbon School District, said the work on the new stands was recently completed. When the stands are extended out during events and games, the word ‘Dinos’ will appear from one side to the other with the blue, black and white colors of the school. The new stands cost around $100,000 and were a part of capital repair projects for the school district, Mainord said.
The work was deemed a priority project for the school district due to safety issues with the old stands not having hand rails for people to use.
Mainord said the district is looking to have the other stands replaced next year. When those stands are extended, ‘CHS’ would appear from one side to the other.
