She was born May 23, 1927 in Lawrence, Kan., to Charles C. and Sue Jo Hood Palmer.
In 1945, Bette graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education from Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg, Mo., where she was actively involved in the Pi Kappa Sigma sorority. Robinson and where later, together, they owned and ran Palmer’s Dry Goods Store. They were both instrumental in the development of the United Methodist Church in Humansville as well as the production of the Humansville Centennial.
Together, they enjoyed traveling and evening card games with friends. Nick preceded her in death in 1983.
Bette moved to Price in 2003 and made many good friends at the Heirloom Inn.
