WAAIME Grants Scholarships to Local Students Attending Utah

Students Carson Pollastro, Mathew Griffiths, Johnathan Heiner, Ferrin Prince, Nathan Armstrong, and Women’s Auxiliary to the Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers scholarship chair Gail LaFrentz stand during ceremonies to award scholarships. WAAIME local section is about education. In April 2007 the group provided six $1000 scholarships to local mining engineering students attending the University of Utah. Two students from eastern Utah were included, Carson Pollastro from Price and Brad Parrish from Ferron. The students exclaimed their excitement about being interns this summer at local mines, which will help them on their way to becoming mining engineers.
