Letter to the Editor: Womens Potty Parity Act

By Sun Advocate

Editor:
In May of 2006 the New York City Council unanimously approved the Women’s Restroom Equity Bill requiring all public facilities to uphold a two to one ration of toilets in the womens restrooms as opposed to the mens.
Under this bill one toilet in the mens room would mean two in the womens, and a urinal in the mens would count the same as a toilet.
Also any structure coming under new remodeling renovations costing more than 25 percent of the county assessors value of the building would come under the act.
Honolulu approved a similar measure on Dec. 7, 2006.
I know of no theater in Branson, Mo. that is not following this ruling. In fact some theaters are even doing more.
It is the mens fault that the Potty Parity Act has not been passed in Utah. But maybe not entirely; there are 27 active women legislators too. They must be bashful or it doesn’t bother them to stand in line.
The wives of those male legislators could inform their husbands, “You pass this act or you go to bed hungry.”
Women that go to the poles in the general election could inform their district’s legislator “No action on the womens Potty Parity Act, no vote from me at the voters booth.”
