Joey Keller goes up for two of his 11 points against Juan Diego.

The Dinos had the unfortunate task of facing region eight leader Juan Diego on Wednesday Feb 9th to finish off their region play. Playing a stronger game than last week, Carbon still came out on the losing end of things with a final score of 56-38.
The Dinos had a lot of scoring chances in the first half, but they just could not get the ball to drop. Time after time the ball landed teasingly close to the net, but bounced right back out. Cole Warburton returned to the line-up after missing most of the season with a broken wrist. He played with intensity, but it was apparent that it will take a few games to get his touch back.
Juan Diego carried a comfortable 13 point lead into the break, Carbon cut the lead several times, but a series of turnovers and missed shots let Juan Diego build it right back up again. The Dinos offense finally got rolling in the fourth and hit 16 points, but a strong Juan Diego team never let them back in the game.
Dustin Pollastro and Joey Keller combined for 22 of the Dino 38 points with 11 each. Coach Bianco was pleased with what he saw from Keller.
“Joey Keller played a good game, he was steady inside and held his composure through out the game,” He remarked.
After playing this weekend and losing to a very good Duchesne team by the score of 68-48, the Dinos will now focus on the next level. They have four days to prepare for their trip up to play Bear River on Friday night. Game time will be at 7:00 pm. This game is round one of the state playoffs and the winner will move on and the loser will think about next season.
