Loretta Thayn


PRICE – Loretta Sutherland Thayn, 71, passed away April 22, 2006 in Price.
She was born Nov. 15, 1934 in Wallsburg to George and Grace Sutherland. In 1951 she married Alonzo (Lon) Thayn. They lived together most of their lives in Wellington on their farm. She was known for her strong spirit, and many will miss her.
Loretta is survived by husband, Alonzo (Lon) Thayn; seven children, Judy (David) Sanderson, Gloria (Sheldon) Oviatt, Darlene Harvel, Scott (Mary) Thayn, Clark Thayn, Valorie (Jason) Marietti and Lon (Julie) Thayn; 16 grandsons, five granddaughters, nine great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. Also survived by five brothers, Lamar (Harla) Sutherland, Ronald (Chris) Sutherland and Ernie (Lorraine) Sutherland, all of Salt Lake, Ray (Darlene) Sutherland of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and one sister, Linda (Danny) Schindler of Salt Lake. Preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Melissa Ann Sanderson; and brother, Ralph Sutherland.
Memorial services will be April 27, 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price. Friends are invited to visit with the family the evening prior from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. A luncheon will be provided at the LDS stake center at 935 E. Main Street in Wellington following services.


Raymond Forrester


PRICE – Raymond E. Forrester, age 78, passed away April 26, 2006 in Price after a long illness.
He as born April 13, 1928 in Price to Joseph and Evelyn Caldwell Forrester. Married Joanne Riddell, they later divorced.
“Cheeks” was known as a hard worker and a “Jack Of All Trades.” He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
His favorite times were spent at his cabin in Scofield, where his annual lamb barbecues were legendary.
Survived by son, Brent (Bonnie) Forrester, Bountiful; daughters, Debbie Stone, Tammy Vigor, both of Price; brother, Bob Forrester, Tucson, Ariz.; special friends, Vic Santi and Denette Young; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Honoring Cheeks wishes, he will be cremated and a gathering for family and friends will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price on Saturday, April 29, from 3 to 4 p.m.


Johnny Johnson


PRICE/PHOENIX, Ariz. – Johnny (Bravo) Johnson, 43, passed away April 14, 2006 in Salt Lake City due to alcoholism.
He was born in October of 1963 in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was a very strong supporter in AA. He enjoyed his AA family. He loved his Aunt Jean with all his heart.
He will be missed dearly.
Services will be Wednesday, April 26 in Phoenix, Ariz.


Frederick Olsen


With heavy hearts and tear-filled eyes we watched our beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Frederick George Olsen, pass April 26, 2006, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
He was born, to Verl W. and Marvella Amelia Olsen. He married Raline Mae Peterson, Sept.16, 1970; they later divorced. Fred married his sweetheart Cathy S. Griffith, Dec. 21, 2001. Just four short years together, they truly shared a love of a lifetime.
Fred’s greatest gift was his family, he cherished, never taking one moment for granted.
His kind heart and gentle spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him. He will surely be missed.
He is survived by loving wife, Cathy S. Olsen, South Jordan; and eleven children, daughter, Jennifer (Troy) Morrell, Utah; son, Brian (Cherie), California; daughter, Rebecca (Keith) Mason, Utah; daughter, Amelia (Aldo) Mendoza; son, Christopher (Amanda), Wyoming; Jennifer Griffith; Johnny Griffith; Natalie (Chris) Franco; Chelsea Griffith; Paige Griffith; Carly Griffith and Patrick all Utah. Fred was preceded in death by parents; daughter-in-law, Becky Griffith; and sister-in-law, Kathrine Olsen, who died four weeks prior from glial blastoma, the same form of brain cancer.
A viewing will be Friday, April 28, 6 to 8 p.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 29, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, where friend may call one hour prior to services.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many doctors and nurses at IHC and Hospice for their care. A very special thanks to Dr. Ali Chouchir, and his staff, for their medical expertise, along with their kindness, compassion and word of encouragement to Fred and Cathy throughout this journey.
