On April 21 the Carbon Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon and the guest speakers were from the New Heights Clubhouse.
The New Heights people spoke about a work program that has been going on for a few years, but has yet to catch on with the general businesses in the county.
According the Tracy Hansen, an employment specialist working with the program, New Heights is looking to place individuals in businesses that are willing to work with the program. Hansen says the clubhouse has people that are willing to work and that the job counselors will train workers for employers, as well as substitute for them when they are off or work.
Helen Olivetto Smith was also honored at the luncheon as business woman of the month.
The Chamber also announced new and renewed memberships for Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Wendy’s of Price, Ultra Lube, Supreme Muffler, Transmission Express and Fatman Paintball.
