Letter to the Editor: Moral high ground

By Sun Advocate

Editor:
News is packaged and prepared for a numb populace, such as reporting from paid or otherwise compromised pundits, and staged productions like the fall of Saddam Hussein’s statue. It’s wickedly pervasive. If it wasn’t so obvious, it might actually be scarier. It certainly couldn’t be more insulting. And when watching President Bush’s press conference a couple of weeks ago, it’s clear that we’re living in an environment of rock bottom expectations regarding clarity of vision from our leaders.
But honesty never really goes out of style, so let’s at least, please, be honest. There is no moral high ground from which to preach smaller government and privatization when so many are in need. We need to look out for each other. And the president will carry this stain of wasted, lost credibility for as long as he tries to lead us.
