Ada Nielsen
FERRON – Ada Jensen Nielsen, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2003 at the age of 94.
She was born May 9, 1909 in Ferron, to James Clifford and Ethel Huntsman Jensen. She married Dr. Harry Stewart Nielsen Nov. 27, 1929.
A lifelong resident of Ferron, Ada was involved with several community organizations. She served as chairman of the Peach Day Committee for 20 years, making it a great and successful celebration. She participated with the Emery County senior citizens for many years and was honored with several awards for her service with their organization.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the Relief Society pianist for over 30 years. She was an active member of the Singing Mothers and the ward choir.
Ada loved music. Her love of music brought together a family orchestra with rehearsals in her home every Tuesday night. The orchestra played for dances and civic functions.
Ada worked at Ferron Drug and Mercantile for 15 years, where she enjoyed her work and loved visiting with the people of Ferron.
Ada’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
Ada loved Ferron. She created a beautiful home there where she enjoyed her evenings by the fireplace. The days of summer were spent sitting on her swing. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers and her rose garden.
Ada loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
The family wishes to thank all of those who have cared for her over the years with a special thank you to Emery County Care and Rehab Center.
She is survived by her three children, Harry Stewart (Barbara) Nielsen, Charlotte (Bevan) Young, John Clifford (Shauna) Nielsen; 11 grandchildren, Anne Dumas, Stanton, Scott and JeNae Nielsen, David, Colleen and Nicole Young, Kellie Larsen, Christopher, Cole and Kinsey Nielsen; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma (Jim) Shiner. She is preceded in death by husband; parents; and sisters, Edna Petersen and Fawn Jensen.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 2, noon at the Ferron 3rd/4th LDS Ward Building, 35 West 200 North. Family and friends may call prior to the service between 10:30 and noon. Interment, Ferron City Cemetery.
Anton ‘Tony’ Hribar Sr.
HELPER – Anton “Tony” Hribar Sr., age 89, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Wasatch Valley Rahab in Salt Lake City.
Born Oct. 16, 1914 in Glencoe, Ohio, to Toni and Lucy Gregorcic Hribar. Married Mary Krompel June 12, 1941 in Price, later divorced. Married his soul mate, Mary Radakovich, March 26, 1950 in Price. Mary died May 19, 1979.
Tony worked in the coal mines starting at age 14 to help support his family. He worked at Latuda, Spring Canyon, Raines, Mutual, and retired from Castle Gate in 1972. He purchased a truck and hauled coal to many homes in the Helper area. Worked as a janitor at Carbon High School for 10 years.
Member of the Slovenian Lodge for over 80 years. Charter member of UMWA District 22 Local 1681.
Tony and Mary were active in all baseball especially Little League Baseball (WBBA). Tony was a coach and league president for many years. He was also an umpire for many years with softball and the American Legion baseball.
Tony enjoyed many trips to Wendover with his family and friends. His grandchildren were very dear to his heart.
Tony will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survived by children, Mary (Arlo) Smith, Auburn, Wash; Garry Hribar, Cedar City; Tony Jr. Hribar, West Valley; Tommy Hribar, Helper; sister, Nettie (Harold) McLaughlin, Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren, Owen (Louise) Smith; Arlene (Robert) Yeagley, Tabitha, Sara and Bonnie Hribar; six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Trista Smith; Chad, Jeremy, Michael and Tysley Yeagley; sisters-in-law, Millie Fox and Mary Metelko; brother-in-law, Bob Radakovich; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Mary; son, Larry; sisters, Mary, Betty, Lucy, Margaret, Vera Metelko; brothers, Johnnie, Rudy and Ernest Metelko.
Funeral service Saturday, Jan. 3, 1 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Helper WBBA baseball in care of Walter Borla, Helper, UT.

Wanda Neese
PRICE – Wanda Neese, 54, passed away suddenly Dec. 28, 2003 in Price.
She was born in Orangeville on Sept. 21, 1949 to Walter and Jane Heiniger. She was the sixth of 11 children. She married Paul Neese Oct. 18, 1968 in Aurora, Colo., and later divorced.
Wanda was a nurse working in Manti and the Emery County Nursing Center.
She enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. She loved going to the races and cheering on her boys.
Wanda’s greatest joy in life was her family and especially her grandkids. They were her whole life
She is survived by son, Paul Neese; daughter, Rhonda (Cody) Austin; companion, Richard Straley; and grandchildren, Lane Neese, Brett, Roy, Cody W., and Tyson Austin, Cynthia and Kandace Owen, all of Price. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Harvey (Mary) Heiniger, American Fork; Grace (Tom) Humphrey, Orangeville; Garth (Lydia) Heiniger, Castle Dale; Betty (Gary) Cooper, Washington; George (Melene) Heiniger, Texas; Joyce (Brian) Vinton, Copperton; Ross (Vickie) Heiniger, Colorado; Pauline (Randall) Stilson, Orangeville; and Hazel (Jerry) Moon, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Heiniger
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Fausett Mortuary Chapel in Price, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Orangeville City Cemetery.
