A Utah Department of Transportation line painting vehicle winds through traffic on U.S. Highway 6 in Helper on Tuesday.
Carbon County motorists need to be aware that road crews are marking lines on all highways in preparation for the upcoming fall and winter weather.
The vehicles move at significantly slower speeds than regular traffic and, even though the equipment always have a warning truck traveling behind, many drivers seem to be oblivious to the potential danger.’
In addition to painting crews, local motorists should exercise caution when traveling through highway improvement construction sites. Work crews, coupled with heavy equipment, frequently create potentially dangerous driving conditions.
Fines double when drivers fail to comply with the speed limits posted in construction zones.
