The Stout brothers pose with their newest Eagle Scout. |
Scouting has become a tradition for the Stout family of Price. Over the years, the Stout family has had seven young men complete the scouting program and earn their Eagle Scout awards, the last one, Justin Tyler Stout, age 13, was awarded his on May 18. The brothers preceding Justin were Michael Alan, Marty Lee, Spencer Wayne, Jeremy Jay, Jesse Duane and Joseph Todd Scott.
Scouting is about a great deal more than camping, it’s also about making a young man a better person. An integral piece is community and civic service. In order to earn the Eagle Scout award, young men are required to complete a community service project. Justin chose to work with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, fixing two of their historic cabins.
“I took out the old chinking between the logs, cleaned between the logs, and replaced the old chinking with new chinking to help prevent damage.”
