The Carbon Dinos continue to build on their season winning streak as the team captured a 10-8 victory over Delta on Tuesday.
The win pushes the Dinos season record to 4-0 and their overall record to 8-5.
After dominating the field last Friday against North Sanpete, the Dinos continued their winning ways as they competed on the road this week against what is thought of as their toughest opponent to date.
The Delta Rabbits entered the game with a 2-0 record but the Dinos remained focused and came out onto the field playing strong.
In fact, the team picked up right were they left off last week as they hit the ball well and remained focused until the end of seven innings.
“The one thing that has impressed me the most about this year’s team is their attitude. They stay focused and take things one game at a time,” explained Dino head coach, Lane Herrick.
With Delta on their mind, the Dinos knew what they had to do to claim a win and that was play hard.
As the Dinos opened up the ball game, the team managed two runs to jump ahead of the Rabbits early on in the ball game.
In the bottom of the second, Delta scored one run, but Carbon bounced back with three runs of their own in the third and five in the fourth inning.
Although the Rabbits managed to put up seven more runs in the final two innings, this wasn’t enough to edge the Dinos out of the winners bracket.
With a strong season record on their side, the Dinos will continue season action this Friday as they compete against Union on the road.
