Former Carbon College athletes to be inducted into sports hall of fame. The College of Eastern Utah will induct two former Carbon College athletes into it’s sports hall of fame on March 29 as part of the college’s Founder’s Day festivities.
Longtime educator, official, coach and administrator, Boyd Bell along with longtime educator, coach and administrator, Alan “Nick” Nelson will each be inducted into the hall of fame.
While attending CEU, Bell played tackle in football in 1957. He was named all-ICAC guard and was catcher on the baseball team.
Nelson enrolled in Carbon College in 1951. He was the captain of the football team, played baseball and was president of the Block C Club. Nelson graduated with his associate’s of science degree in 1953.
Both former CEU athletes will be honored at a banquet during the Founder’s Day festivities at the end of this month.
