A touching poem accompanied each bear, reading:
“I am your special ‘Guard’ian Bear. I’ll keep you company and show you I care!
I am a good listener
You can whisper in my ear,
‘Cause I’m stuffed with love
and can lessen any fear.
You can hug me when you’re happy, You can hug me when you’re sad. And if you shake me hard,I will know that your are mad.
If you grumble it won’t make me cross, I’ll simply give you a smile
and then you’ll be all better
in a very short while.
I’ll be your special friend during this stage of your life
When things will be difficult
and might cause much strife.
Remember Daddy Loves You! He is trying to do right;
In protecting your freedoms For this, he must fight.
Be brave, my child,
I soon return,
my Patriotic Duty will
then be done!”
