Arline Reddington


HELPER – Mary Arline Reddington, age 82, passed away Nov. 3, 2002 at her home.
She was born Dec. 12, 1919 in Pleasant Grove to Clarence and Winnie C. Hardman Reid. Married Ben R. Reddington March 2, 1941 in Latuda.
Arline was a graduate of Carbon High School.
Member of the LDS Church, where she taught Primary, Relief Society and 4-H. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Elks and Slovenian Home.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a very special lady who was caring and thoughtful of everyone she knew. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Survived by husband, Ben R. Reddington, Helper; daughter, Dorothy (Dan) LaRoy, Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Ray (Leatrice) Redd-ington, Wellington; son, Bob Reddington, Clearmont, Fla.; son, Harry (Pam) Reddington; daughter, Edyth Blair, both of Helper; Arvil (Ida) Reid, Provo; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2 p.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Helper. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home one hour prior to service.


Delta Howard


HUNTINGTON – Our precious mother, Delta “Maude” Brown Hoard, age 84, passed on to be with Jesus Nov. 3, 2002 at Castleview Hospital.
Delta was born March 4, 1918 in Huntington to John William and Minnie Hall Brown. She was the fifth of 10 children. She married Charles Neil Howard June 6, 1939 in Grand Junction, Colo. He died Feb. 12, 1949. (Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple). Later married to and divorced from Henry Weston, now deceased.
She was a mother and a farmer, also a caregiver to children and the elderly.
In 1992, Delta was baptized to the Lord at Price Chapel of Christian and Missionary Alliance, the church she attended for near two decades. Most recently, she was a member of Desert Edge Christian Chapel in Huntington, which she helped found and build.
Delta attended Ladies Explorers Bible Study, Huntington, from 1977-97.
She was a member of the Emery County Historical Society and American Legion Auxiliary Huntington Unit 73.
Delta liked reading, walks, travel, picnics, shoes, family gatherings, baking devil’s food cakes and poppy seed and lemon loaves, caring for animals, flowers, gardening, and canning, remembering birthdays, embroidering, quilting and quiltmaking from leftovers, doing things for others and giving of herself and, needless to say, “grandchildren!”
Survived by children, Sylvia (Glenn) Nelson, Clarence Neil (Joyce) Howard, both of Huntington; Nancy (Steve) Espanet, Kent, Wash.; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Leah Harris, Gaithers-burg, Md.; brothers, Lenard Brown, Orangeville; Leon Brown, Tooele; Steve Brown, Loa; and numerous nieces and nephews many who affectionately called her “Aunt Maudie.” Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Harry Neldon Howard; sisters, Lucille (infant); Edna Jones; brothers, Clifton, Carl and Louis Brown.
Funeral service Thursday, Nov. 7, 1 p.m., Desert Edge Christian Chapel, 500 S. Main, Huntington. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Price, Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery.
The family especially appreciates the love and care given by the staff, residents and friends at Parkdale Care Center.
In honor of mom’s love for children, gifts in lieu of flowers can be given in her name to the Emery County Children’s Justice Center in Castle Dale.


Tim Pool


PRICE – Tim George Pool, age 85, died Nov. 3, 2002 at his home in Price.
He was born Aug. 15, 1917 in Hobart, Okla., to Walter Lee and Verna Maude Pearson Pool. Married Wanda Wright Nov. 4, 1939 in Santa Ana, Calif. She died Jan. 24, 1981.
Life member of the DAV Jack Fisher Lodge 23.
Retired member of the Operating Engineers Local 12. Member of the Huntington Beach Masonic Lodge 380 F&AM.
Survived by daughter, Starla (Jim) Robertson, Price; grandson, T.J. (Aime) Robertson, Riverton; granddaughter, Bonnie Robertson, Salt Lake City; brother-in-law, Charles (Charlotte) Skidmore, Long Beach, Calif.; brother, Billie Joe Pool, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Masonic graveside service Monday, Nov. 4, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shriners Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
